Redevelopment Of The Moscow River Canal Embankment

Mirproekt, 2023
Location: Moscow
Project stage: concept
Role: Lead architect, graphic designer
Software: AutoCad, SketchUp + Photoshop

This improvement project took part in the XXV Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies “Archimedes-2022.” The idea arose as a result of extensive research and analysis of the territory and pedestrian activities in the area, as well as an alternative to the idea to drain and concrete the canal, which was speculated at the time. Four main tasks were identified:
1. Preserving the canal’s water — overcoming the idea of concreting the water and securing the canal as an important artery of the city.
2. Restarting the achievements of Soviet architects designs — piers, berths, locks.
3. Creating water transport links between the freshly developed ZIL territory and Balchug Island, which is located right across the Kremlin and the city center.
4. Two directions for developing the concept for the two banks: an active embankment — comfortable paths for pedestrians, integrated with separate bike paths, multifunctional heated pavilions, recreation and coworking areas; and a quiet embankment — containing wide walking paths, galleries and restaurants.

Inclusive Park

Mirproekt, 2022
Location: Khanty-Mansiysk
Project stage: concept
Role: architect
Software: SketchUp, Photoshop

This development project included analysis and planning of the territory for an inclusive park. Equality is the main focus of the park, so tactile paths and sensory gardens have been designed, and a barrier-free environment has been created in which all children can interact with each other.
A standard park with a maze and recreation areas is located in the upper part. Play and sports areas are located in the lower part, with outdoor play and sports equipment under a canopy on the street, as well as a section in a warm year-round pavilion, which is connected to the street by sliding doors during the warm season.

Kronshtadt’s Pedestrian Embankment Development

Mirproekt, 2022
Location: Kronshtadt city
Project stage: concept
Role: architect
Software: SketchUp, Photoshop

This project focuses on the development and improvement of the Kronstadt embankment. A concept was developed to separate traffic flows, create buffer zones and points of attraction—cantilever bridges that would allow for changes in viewing angles and distances, as well as diversify walking options. The long-awaited wide bike paths and areas for leisure activities by the water appeared, much to the delight of local residents.

Aquaparadise Water Park, Far East Maritime Region

Mirproekt, 2021
Location: Vladivostok city, Russkiy island
Project stage: concept
Role: architect
Software: SketchUp, Rhino + Grasshopper

This ambitious conceptual project was carried out as part of a program to develop the Far East Maritime Region region, specifically Russky Island. The large area on the northern coast was planned to include a pier, a yacht club,
a hotel complex with more than 1,000 rooms, and, as the main element of the composition, a water park. My task was to design and render the facades of the buildings in 3D. The facades were to be made of vertical slats, for which I used Rhino+Grasshopper, that enabled exploring the visual appearance under various parameters - such as the thickness and number of slats, as well as the amplitude and regularity of the wavy pattern, derived from sinus function.

International Center For Water Resources On L. Baikal
Mirproekt, 2022
Location: lake Baikal
Project stage: concept
Role: Lead architect, graphic designer
Software: Rhino + Grasshopper, Photoshop

For this project, I was tasked to design a facade made of vertical slats around the water resources center building. Since the theme of the project revolved around water and Lake Baikal, it was decided to make the facade more complex and interesting by twisting the slats and creating a pattern, which could be repeated across the whole perimeter. Since producing patterns on the 3d facade manually by twisting individual slats is a rather lengthy process, without the possibility of making quick corrections, parametric modeling in Grasshopper was used for this task. Three different algorithmic functions resulted in three facade pattern concepts:
  • One was in the form of shimmering waves, a direct association with water.
  • Second, more “experimental,” was associated with the mountainous landscape of the area.
  • Third was inspired by winter views of the lake and referred to cracks seen in the ice cover.

Residential Complex "High Coast"
Mirproekt, 2021
Location: Anapa
Project stage: concept
Role: architect, graphic designer
Software: SketchUp + TwinMotion, Photoshop

A conceptual project designed for the developmental program of the city of Anapa. Large 2 block territory of the new city is proposed to be dedicated to residential area featuring a school, kindergarten, a large park with a church and pedestrian walkways and green areas through-out. The project proposes various types of high rise residential buildings, and a hotel area. While proving to be economically viable to the investors, the residential block are designed to be properly insolated and carefully arranged to avoid overcrowding and strong class division

Library at the Campus of "MPaTI of Dolgoprudny"
Mirproekt, 2021
Location: Moscow
Project stage: concept
Role: architect, graphic designer
Software: SketchUp + TwinMotion, Photoshop

This large development project for the campus of an existing University featured an extensive addition of various buildings on a new territory. My involvement was limited to designing a facade for the Library building. Considering the balance between avoiding light for book storage and providing light for reading auditoriums the building features large glass windows on southern and northern facades, and louvered window strips along the building pathways.

Extreme Sports Park, Far East Maritime Region

Mirproekt, 2021
Location: Vladivostok city, Russkiy island
Project stage: concept
Role: architect
Software: SketchUp, Rhino + Grasshopper, Twinmotion

Another conceptual project within the Far East Maritime Region development program. Several pavilions, each for a separate extreme sport, such as BMX Arena, Skate Park, Parkour Park and a Rock Climbing Center are scattered on a large site, along with a recreational activitites area that connects the territory into a single whole park experience. Indoor sports activities continue on to outdoor courts, allowing extreme sports to be practiced year-round, in any weather, at different levels of difficulty.
The facades of the main pavilions were modeled using Grasshopper and various equations, including Voronoi functions.

Anatomy Of Structures Workshop 2019/20
Materials: Brass, wood
Software: Rhinoceros

The course “Anatomy of Structures 2019/20” of the Technology module at MARCH Architecture School was organized along with the exhibition “Shukhov. Formula of Architecture”, held at the Shchusev Museum of Architecture from October 2019 to January 2020. The purpose of the “anatomy lesson” was to study outstanding works of structural engineering of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, in particular, metal wide-span spatial structures, which signify the transition from planar (2D) to spatial (3D) systems, unique for the theory and practice of structures, that occurred in 1880-1920.

I have participated in completing two of the six 1:25 scale model structures selected, primarily focusing on modelling, laser cutting, material acquirement and assembly stage.

More information about the course can be found on:
